More on How and Why
I think the most eye opening aspect of going out and “street marketing” was the huge volume of men and women who wanted to talk to an attorney. Their needs were all over the place – from landlord tenant to domestic to employer issues. Everyone everywhere had a legal question and they were truly grateful and enthusiastic about meeting us on the street, or at a festival or church, wherever. We asked them how they went about finding a lawyer to address their issue and the common response was that they wouldn’t even try, they were afraid or poor or busy, etc. Most folks responded to what we were trying offer through myLatinoLawyer.
This only strengthened our resolve to provide access. In speaking with people in person, again everyone had access to a computer, either in their home, at school or shared by families. No surprise everyone is on the internet. This is a work in progress and I hope to keep perfecting the bridge between the Latino and legal communities. We are committed to this effort!
